Mooning about....

I need to buy a good tripod as the one I used tonight was crap, even on the 10 sec timer it was still shaking, 500mm, f16, 1/30 ish, ISO 100 then cropped in lots.

the sigma 50-500mm is a heavy lump and a preferred choice for many birdy photographers, it is very sharp but at 500mm it works best at f8 so you need light, the plus side is that you get a lot of lens for $1000 or so, what I have noticed though is that the jump from 10mil to 15mil pix on the camera has started to show the flaws more on the images I need to use L glass with the Canon 50D, the Tamron 25-70 or what ever it is, is now useless as it is so soft.

Thanks Eric, tell you what Lr2 makes a moon shot so easy when you use the brush tool in exposure mode as you can alter the exposure to which ever part of the moon that needs lightening or darkening to give you a nice even exposure and it only takes seconds to do.
